Rails Two different rail fence blocks are made from five
fabrics, and arranged to make an attractive medallion. The dimensions
can be extended further by a strip pieced border which is pictured in
browns. The quilt size is variable depending on the number of rounds -
make it smaller or larger. A baby quilt layout is provided as well as a
Table Runner/Pillow Sham plan. This pattern requires accurate cutting,
consistent strip sewing, and seam matching. Jelly Roll friendly!!

These flowers are prevalent throughout the West, but their range extends coast-to-coast
and to several continents. In Texas they are the state flower. Up-to-date quick methods
are used to construct the basic 3-flower block. Half-square units for the
flower top are
produced by layering the two blue fabrics and sewing on an attached paper grid, supplied
in the pattern. The colorful 12" square block is a good mixer for sampler quilts. For
an attractive bed quilt, expand on the large wall quilt setting which uses the framing
spacer blocks.
